Agenda New possibilities!
One of the main themes of this class is emergence. In class we talked about "wetness" as an example of something that emerges when certain configurations of hydrogen and oxygen come together under specific conditions. These TED talks provide some detail about what is happening physically when this happens. Our concept "wet" is the description of the dynamic of energy exchange at the atomic and molecular levels.
The article on "The Classic Metal Behind the Origins of Life" describes what we have been able to learn of the lengthy process that resulted in the formation of the inorganic chemicals on Earth that are essential to life.
